Coincidental Landscapes / Juhumaastikud (2016)

Coincidental Landscapes (Juhumaastikud) is a video about coincidentally formed images. I use my old drawings and paintings as a source material, from where I find and cut out small areas that resemble landscapes. While finding these landscapes I am focused on fitting them with a general mystical or dream-like theme but avoid making any changes, to keep the coincidental aspect of the image. With these images I give the viewer a pice of narrative or an explanation. I want people to see what I see and then go beyond, allowing the viewer to discover detailed worlds in semi abstract images.
